Solar Electricity - Conventional vs. Hybrid
Home > Solar Electricity > Conventional Conventional systems use only PV panels to produce electricity. In some applications it is favorable to incorporate additional forms of energy generation, such as wind or geo-thermal, or even fossil fuel generators to supplement solar production. These systems are called Hybrid systems. Using wind and/or a backup generator can reduce the cost of a solar installation and add an extra element of reliability to the system.
