Home > Solar Electricity > Stand Alone
As the name suggests, Stand-Alone systems are meant to supply all of the electricity needed without drawing power
from the grid (the power company). This requires storing power in a battery bank for overnight use. These systems are
best suited for locations where utility power is not available or is prohibitively expensive. They should be designed
to meet maximum power needs on the shortest day of the year, and have sufficient storage to last a minimum of 3 to 5
days with no energy production.
